Dione Scott

Dione believes that honesty, empathy, racial equity, diversity and inclusion should be at the heart of how we work, think, and interact. Dione was born and raised in Jamaica, where she completed a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from the University of Technology, Jamaica and a Masters of Business Administration from Kaplan University. She lectured computer science for several years developing curriculums, employing diverse teaching techniques and coordinating community outreach programs.

She moved to Canada to pursue a Masters of Design in Strategic Foresight and Innovation at the Ontario College of Art and Design University. On this new path, she combined her passion for computer science and education with human-centred design and foresight. Her hope is to use these tools and techniques to cultivate effective conversations, increase cultural awareness and develop more robust and inclusionary policies within the public sector and her community.

As a policy and foresight analyst, Dione has worked on projects such as feminist government, child safety on social media, COVID-19 communication response with a focus on Black and South Asian organizations, and immigration policy. She has led and facilitated various training sessions and community engagement processes within the public and private sectors. She has worked with numerous not-for-profit organizations using foresight and design thinking to explore themes such as the future of education, teen adoption, fitness and mental health, and newcomer settlement. Dione is an eternal optimist and hopes to use her combined powers for good.
